This Video covers components of discrete Trial training which is a key method of ABA. Discrete Trial Training consists of 3 main parts-
SD( discriminative stimulus)
SD(Discriminative Stimulus) is a clear instruction given to the child by the therapist.
Prompt
2) A child’s Response or Prompt – A child’s Response to that stimuli,
Reinforcement

3) Reinforcement or correction- Depending on the response whether it’s correct or not.
The first step for discrete trial training is to deliver a good SD which should be clear. In case of correct response immediate reinforcement is given to encourage repetition of the behavior. In case of incorrect response correction is applied. 2 terms prompting and reinforcements are highlighted in the video. Prompts are additional cues or assistance provided by therapists to encourage a desired behavior or response. Reinforcement is strengthening of a particular behavior, varying the type and frequency of reinforcement helps maintain the child’s motivation and learning process.
