Teaching Strategies for Children with ADHD

This video provides a brief introduction of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with the teaching strategies. These strategies are- providing appropriate seating in the classroom (It should be preferably near to teacher and away from window), distraction free zone like a placid corner in a classroom where the child can calm down , using visual schedules for structured routine, clear and simple instruction, incorporate movement break in order to release the excess energy. There should not be visual or auditory distraction in the classroom ( highlighted ,colored decors etc can distract the child ). Teachers should use positive reinforcement in order to make the child do positive behavior and fidget toys can be used for coping overstimulation. For better learning multisensory approach should be inculcated in teaching. This video is highly useful for teachers to accommodate ADHD children in the classroom.
