DTT is used to teach new behaviors. It is about- presenting a learning opportunity in which the student’s correct behavior is reinforced. There are three parts of DTT – (A) for antecedent, (B) for behavior (C) for consequence.
For example:
Antecedent – Look at me (instructors says) | Discriminative stimulus|
Behavior – Student looks at the instructor.| Response|
Consequence- Instructor says good looking and gives reward. |Stimulus reinforcers|
DTT is a structured teaching method that breaks down the skill into small, discrete steps and teaches them one at a time, using repetition, clear instruction and reinforcement.
